When you use a USB cable (not included) to connect the See Yourself Camera to a computer, you can download pictures to view and edit using software from Fisher-Price (download online). There, you can choose special effects, organize your photos, and make them into cards and books to share with your friends and family.

Before I go on and on about how much fun we've had already with this camera, I wanted to point out a few things people should know before they purchase this product:1) It does not come with its own USB cord, but if you already own a digital camera or MP3 player of some kind, chances are you already have a cord that will work. 2) They actually put in some quality Duracell batteries, instead of generic store batteries (it takes four AA batteries), but... 3) ...it does not come with an SD card. You can still use this camera without one, but having a memory card (SD up to 32G) will greatly increase what you can do with this, esepcially when it comes to videos. As far as the video recording feature goes, I was shocked at how well the sound and picture came through. You do not have to be next to a person to record their voice; I was able to record what my son was saying from across the room. When it comes to photos, there are 25 little... This is a 'real' camera, albeit not the highest-end one out there. But that's fine for what it is. It's easy to use, and gives a decent photo. After going over it myself, I had my grandson try it. Now, the age for this is 3-6, and my grandson is just a bit over 2, but his mother is a professional photographer (as am I), so he 'gets' what taking a photo is all about. He found the flip over lens fascinating- and I agree, what a great design! It allows the child to see him or herself in the viewfinder and take his/her own photo! He immediately started taking photos around the house and outside. He didn't quite get the need to have the image in the viewfinder, but that is something that I feel is due to his younger than targeted age, and it's a matter of learning how to use a camera. He was thrilled with it and managed to get several usable/saveable shots on his first try. Going over the camera, the design is quite good. It was a little too easy to delete shots -... My husband really wanted me to get these for the kids instead of the other Fisher Price cameras that were only $40. and after they arrived I have done a test run for each camera and I have a small list of pros and con(s) that I am going to share Pros 1. they are heavy duty. 2. the SD slot is hidden away in the battery compartment and locks with a screwdriver. I like this because my kids wont lose the card I put in it. 3. the picture quality is listed in the manual as 1280x960. I was particularly happy to see this since I had looked all over to find out what quality picture it was going to take. video quality is 640x480. small, yes, but not horrible for a 'toy' camera. 4. I was actually glad that it didn't come with a USB cable. I already have SO many of those things around here. one more... Read more |
